Waterproofing: |
- Water repellent application
- Water repellents protect masonry from water and chloride intrusion, airborne contaminants, and general wear and tear - but do not alter the original appearance. This is opposed to masonry sealers which provide little penetration and instead form a resin barrier on the masonry's surface.
- Caulking Perimeter and Expansion Joints
- Throughout the day, building substrates will expand and contract due to warming and cooling. Expansion joints are designed to safely absorb the thermal expansion and contraction of various construction materials.
- Window Glazing
- Glazing putty is a mix of boiled linseed oil and calcium carbonate and was designed to make a seal between dissimilar materials (i.e.glass and wood), to remain flexible for a long time, and to be paintable.
|

|
Specialized Coatings: |
- Masonry Coatings
- Elastomeric masonry coating is a flexible, breathable coating primarily for concrete and masonry that can fill and bridge minor hairline cracks. Excellent protection against driving rain, alternate freeze-thaw cycles and UV light.
- Metal Coatings
- Epoxy is a two part coating highly resistant to abrasion, wet conditions, corrosive fumes and exterior weathering.
- Faux Finishes
- Include color matched terra cotta "glazing" replication and faux copper finish and patina.
- Roof Coatings
- GCC performs repairs to, and coats your existing roofing system which may extend the life of your roof by 5 to 10 years.

|
Masonry Restoration: |
- Tuckpointing
- Is one of our most common repairs. New mortar that has been specially matched to the existing for color and compressive strength is installed into cut or raked joints to correct deteriorated mortar in masonry.
- Cleaning
- Often includes pressure cleaning to remove grit and grime but may also include acid washes, paint removal, poultice for effloresence removal or mortar joint resurfacing.
- Unit Replacements
- Shattered or missing masonry units can be replaced with historically similar materials
|

|
Patching: |
- Stucco
- Is a masonry coating that is usually made with different types and combinations of aggregate, fibers, sand, binder (either portland cement or lime) and water. When patching existing stucco emphasis is on matching the compressive strength and texture of existing materials as stucco is usually coated with elastomeric coating.
- Concrete
- When repairing cracked or missing concrete emphasis is on matching the compressive strength, color and the aggregate of the existing material to provide a seamless look.

|
Terra Cotta and Natural Stone Restoration: |
- Terra Cotta
- A glazed ceramic building material popular from the late 19th century until the 1930's, and still one of the most common building materials found in U.S. urban environments. Because of the glaze, terra cotta responds well to cleaning. Chipped pieces can be patched, broken pieces can be welded together and missing pieces can be replicated and replaced. The glazing on repaired terra cotta is often "re-glazed" in the field to best match the existing pieces.
- Slate, Limestone, Granite, and Marble
- Each material has in own considerations for cleaning and patching and when repairing emphasis is on not damaging the existing material while matching the compressive strength, texture and look to provide a seamless patch.
|
 |
Carbon Deposit Removal: |
- Carbon Removal
- Carbon deposits are the black grime that builds up over time from the constant flow of exhaust from cars and busses. It is difficult if not impossible to clean without the aid of specialized acids designed to clean the substrate without damaging it.

|
Metal Restoration: |
- Cornice Repair
- A horizontal decorative molding which crowns any building. The function of the projecting cornice is to throw rainwater away from the building's walls. The cornice takes a lot of abuse from the enviroment. The restoration of a cornice may involve structural repairs, replicating missing pieces, cleaning, securing to masonry and coating with a protective coating.
- Copper, Bronze, Aluminum, and Steel
- Are quite common building materials and may be found in many different forms from roofing, to guttering, to decorative elements. Often, the restoration of metal requires stamping or shaping of new metal to replace pieces that have been lost to wind or rust. Especially in the case of historic copper, the finish of the new metal must closely replicate that of the old. Metal restoration also involves polishing, cleaning and protective coatings.

|
Wooden Window Restoration: |
- Structural Epoxy
- Wood is beautiful but just doesn't hold up to the elements as good as metal or stone. For small areas of deterioration the wood can be repaired with a structural epoxy that can be drilled or nailed and is paintable or stainable.
- Custom Millwork
- For larger areas of deterioration or missing pieces we can provide custom millwork to match the historic.
- Sash Repair
- Sashes often get nailed shut, painted shut, the weights are broken, the panes are broken or the glazing is missing. The sashes are an important part of the historic character of a building and should be restored instead of replaced. We can remove the build up from the sashes which make them inoperable and fix the problems so that they are functional windows again.
|

|
Window Installations: |
- Storefront, Curtainwalls and Custom Design
- Replacement of existing window and frame units or design and installation of custom units.
- Broken Windows
- Replacement glass unit to match tint and reflective properties of existing.
- Glass Restoration
- Scenario: A man working in the Maintenance department of a high-rise building was patching some minor leaks in the roof with tar when a gust of wind picked up his pail and tossed it over the edge of the building spilling tar on 16 floors of windows. Instead of replacing the costly windows the tar (or other foreign matter) was removed and the glass was effectively restored.

Exterior Analysis and Restoration Plans- |
- Custom Plans
- Taking into consideration research of building history, design, meetings with material suppliers, testing, and estimating, an Exterior Analysis and Restoration Plan is extremely beneficial because it ensures that the correct repair methods will be identified, ensures an agreed upon scope of work that is realistic and viable, and discusses everything - on paper. Along with the evaluation, you will receive a price quote from our company for the proposed scopes of work. If you decide not to use our restoration services, you will have a standard document which can be used to efficiently receive bids from many different companies on each scope of work. This ensures that bidding will be competitive and repair work will be evaluated correctly.

|
Vertical Access Equipment: |
- Stage and Outrigger Assemblies
- A working platform suspended on wire ropes from securely mounted overhead outriggers with electric motors used to raise or lower the platform. Modular swinging stages can be quickly assembled on site, and can cope with awkward shaped buildings or difficult access areas, such as corners and curved sections.
|
 |
Miscellaneous Exterior Services- |
- Building Accessories
- Cleaning, installation, and repairs, of signs, flags and flag poles, antennas, lighting fixtures, light bulbs and bird control which is used to keep birds from landing or roosting on building surfaces so to protect pedestrians from bird waste
