Appalachian Christian Village

Johnson City, TN

The Appalachian Village Tower is an 8 story, unique concrete and EIFS structure which houses 56 apartments and 4 penthouse units. The tower is part of a greater organization know as Appalachian Christian Village, providing independent and congregate living, assisted living, home assistance and respite care, and nursing care to the residents of East Tennessee.

We were contacted in 2006 to review the problems facing this aging structure: leaks, spalling concrete, and out of the ordinary vertical access issues.

Restoration work included patching spalling concrete; painting all concrete and EIFS surfaces and repairing all window perimeter and expansion joints with traditional cut-and-caulk methods as well as utilizing pre-formed silicone profiles.
